Uses: Bora-Care® prevents and controls termites, insects, and wood decay fungi such as brown and white rot. Use on bare wood that is regularly in contact with water, such as crawl spaces, decks, sills, columns, joists, beams, logs, siding, and fences. Bora-Care is extremely versatile and can be used indoors or outdoors on wet or dry wood or wood-based surfaces. It is compatible with LiquidWood® and WoodEpox® and is most effective prior to making epoxy repairs.

My big wood deck has no roof over it. Summer is coming and it is very dry, so I would normally put an oil on it to rehydrate it, or perhaps a stain to protect it from UV. But in the winter it is very rainy, so two years ago I applied Bora-Care.
1- how often should one apply bora-care to prevent rot?
2- I don't blieve bora-care re-hydrates, so what would you suggest I do, and in what order?

Bora-Care is a solution to protect against wood destroying organisms. It is not a rehydrating type product for wood. We do not have a product for that particular type of application.

You can use our LiquidWood on any dry rotted wood to consolidate it and make it hard again. It is not a protectorant or sealant type product.
Restoring 80-year old windows with doublehung counterweighted wood sashes. Most rails, stiles, & muntins in good shape; all of interior casings good, some dark, soft wood on lower exterior casings. Stripping all paint from wood, wish to apply natural finish to interior, paint exterior. reglaze all panes.

You can use our LiquidWood and WoodEpox to restore the windows and either the Sarco Dual Glaze (exterior use) or the Sarco Type M Glazing Compound (interior use) to reglaze the windows.

Bora-Care should be applied prior to application of the LiquidWood and WoodEpox. Be sure to allow the Bora-Care to dry completely prior to applying LiquidWood and WoodEpox.
