Flexible polyurethane moldmaking paste for architectural and art restoration. Brush it on. Build it up.
Uses: Apply to vertical and overhead surfaces. For making molds of architectural elements that cannot be removed from the structure. Excellent for use on models with severe undercuts, models such as busts, statues, finials, and furniture parts where a 1 part mold is desirable, high and low reliefs. Typical uses include reproducing capitals, ceiling medallions, corbels, moldings, figurines, and other 3-dimensional objects.
Features and Benefits: MasterMold 12-3 is easily spread on the model to produce a smooth, bubble-free mold surface that captures the finest details. The molds are ready to use in less than one day. Its elasticity, softness, and high strength permit easy peeling from intricate shapes. Its outstanding dimensional memory permits casting molds without any exterior support in some instances. Molds are reusable. MasterMold contains no respiratory irritants common to other polyurethane compounds, unless it is heated above 250° F, and requires no special, personal protection other than gloves and an apron. Support molds can be made with plaster or WoodEpox to support larger MasterMold 12-3 molds while casting. Release agent is necessary for both the model and when casting the mold in most instances. Release agent is not necessary for water-based casting materials.
